City of Marion issued the following announcement on Apr. 11.

The City of Marion is seeking qualified mowing and debris removal contractors to assist with code enforcement abatement.  The City of Marion Planning and Development Department is responsible for code enforcement abatement involving mowing and debris removal on private property when nuisance violations occur.  The Department maintains a rotation schedule of qualified contractors to support these abatement efforts.  To qualify, contractors must have the ability to perform work between the hours of 8:00am and 5:00pm Monday through Friday, and must be properly licensed and insured to perform mowing and debris removal.  To be placed on City’s rotation schedule, qualified contractors must provide the City of Marion with a copy their W-9, and provide and maintain General Liability Coverage at a rate no less than $1,000,000 naming the City of Marion as the certificate holder.   Interested contractors or those wanting additional information are encouraged to contact Heather Cotton, Planning and Development Director at (828) 652-3551, ext. 311 or via email at hcotton@marionnc.org.
