City of Shelby issued the following announcement on Mar. 18.

The public is hereby notified that the City Council of the City of Shelby will hold their regular meeting of Monday, March 21, 2022, at 6:00 p.m. at City Hall Council Chamber located at 300 South Washington Street, Shelby, NC next to City Hall.

Public access to this meeting is available, with limited seating, following the current North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services COVID-19 guidelines.  Social distancing must be observed, and face coverings are required by all members of the public entering the Council Chamber and must be worn for the duration of the meeting.

Public Comment Period – Comments can be made in person by signing up with the City Clerk by 5:45 p.m. The Mayor will call on each individual and will keep track of your time, limited to three (3) minutes per speaker.

Public Hearings – The Shelby City Council will conduct several public hearings during this meeting.  Persons interested in being heard on any of these matters are invited to comment at the respective hearing, whether for or against.  Speakers must appear in person by signing up with the City Clerk by 5:45 p.m.  Comments may be presented orally at the hearing, in writing prior to the hearing, or both.

This meeting will also be livestreamed via Facebook Live which can be accessed on your personal device.
