County of McDowell issued the following announcement on Dec. 18. 

McDowell County administrative offices will be closed Thursday December 23, Friday December 24, and Monday December 27 for the Christmas holiday.

McDowell County solid waste convenience centers will be closing at 12:30 on Friday, December 24 and will be closed on Saturday, December 25.  All solid waste facilities will be open on regular schedule on Monday, December 27.
