County of McDowell issued the following announcement on Dec. 24. 

One of McDowell County’s garbage trucks experienced a mechanical failure and is unavailable to operate today.   

The City of Marion has activated one of their trucks to help with the busiest solid waste day of the year.  Thank you to the City of Marion for your assistance!
