The Southern Business Mentoring Program offers one hour one-on-one business advisory sessions.

Amanda Wood is our General Business Advisor.

She is a senior executive, with experience leading state and national business advisory teams, but her clients have also valued Amanda’s practical, hands-on experience in a complex manufacturing services business over many years, as Managing Director. (She knows what it’s like to start from scratch and ultimately grow and shape a significant-sized, market-leading business).

How can I help? What do you need?

A sounding board for your ideas?

A health-check on your business?

Guidance on forming a business plan?

Guidance on mapping out the future/forming your vision?

Help with re-thinking your business model?

Guidance on reaching more customers? Or forming market strategies?

Help to work out your priorities (or prioritise your already-long list)?

Guidance on defining/understanding your markets and segments?

Ideas on working with suppliers or partners?

Ideas for establishing or managing your team/team culture?

Help with managing growing pains?

To talk to someone who understands and cares about what you’re coping with?

A friendly ear for a confidential business problem?

A range of resources or connections to help your business?

Help with the process of starting up a new business?

To discuss if grants or other support can help your business?

I don’t know what I need. I don’t know what I don’t know.

Something else?

Amanda’s knowledge and practical experience runs quite deep in areas including Strategic Planning, Marketing Strategy, Business Model Innovation, Financial Analysis, Grant Writing, Business Mentoring, Business Leadership and more. She is comfortable and effective working with clients across most industries,

This self-confessed “business nerd” was instrumental in the establishment of a “Business Enterprise Centre” in the South, in the early 2000’s. More recently she worked for several years leading of teams of advisers working with larger businesses ($2m to $100m) to grow, improve, or access grants/support. She also recently completed a contract in Southern Adelaide, working one to one with several hundred businesses of all shapes, sizes and industries (on behalf of State Govt and Councils). Amanda has served on a range of business related boards, committees or initiatives, including several significant business grant panels, which have awarded grants ranging from $20,000 up to several million $.

With a strong armoury of professional and business resources and connections to bring to the table, Amanda will help you identify possible strategies or pathways to growth, change or improvement in your business. After the session she can also refer you to specialist advisors for additional low-cost sessions within this generously subsidised program, as applicable to your needs.
