Cost of college went up for all students at Cleveland Community College

In-state tuition and fees rose 1 percent for 2018-19 at Cleveland Community College, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

North Carolina residents paid $2,552 to attend the two-year public institution this year – $26 more than the $2,526 charged for 2017-18.

Non-residents paid 240.8 percent more than residents this year, or $8,696. Their price tag grew 0.3 percent from $8,670 in 2017-18.

About 98 percent of the school's undergraduate population are North Carolina residents. And about 2 percent are residents of other states.

Data shows 84 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 207 students received grants or scholarships totaling $1.1 million.

Including all undergraduates (2,551), 1,444 students used grants or scholarships totaling $7.5 million.
