Senator Kelly Hastings (R-Cleveland) accused his Democratic colleagues of potentially cheating in the upcoming election in response to a lawsuit related to absentee ballots.
The lawsuit stemmed from the State Board of Elections changing absentee ballot rules after many North Carolinians already voted, claiming it makes the chances of voter fraud more likely.
Hastings shared the lawsuit on Facebook, encouraging his followers to read the document explaining details on the fight against voter fraud.
"The left might cheat again and defeat us like they did during 'Scannergate', but this explains how our attorneys are trying to prevent voter fraud," Hasting's said in his Sept. 28 Facebook post. "I've been very busy the last two weeks outside of government and politics and lots of people contacted me about this issue. I think our lawyers produced a great document based on solid constitutional reasoning, and it serves as a great explanation. It is concise and to the point"
