County of Cleveland issued the following announcement on Sep 24.
There were 9 fentanyl related overdoses reported in Cleveland County over the weekend, with sadly 4 of those resulting in death.
Fentanyl is a powerful synthetic opioid that is similar to morphine but is 50 to 100 times more potent. There is NO SAFE WAY to use fentanyl, but Naloxone can save lives.
Naloxone is a medicine that rapidly reverses an opioid overdose and can quickly restore normal breathing to a person if their breathing has slowed or stopped because of an opioid overdose.
