County of Rutherford issued the following announcement on Oct. 9.
County government is the shared responsibility of elected officials, staff, and many citizens who serve on various boards and commissions. The participation of citizens is an integral part of the decision-making process the Commissioners use in striving to improve services to the residents of Rutherford County.
Vacancies have occurred on the following boards. Applications are being accepted and appointments will be made by the Rutherford County Board of Commissioners at a future meeting.

If you are interested in serving on one of the above boards/commissions, you may apply online at Rutherford County Boards and Commissions or by mailing to Clerk to the Board, Rutherford County Office Building, 289 North Main Street, Rutherfordton, NC 28139.
