McDowell County Schools issued the following announcement on Jan. 29.
Congratulations to Stephanie Faw, a health and physical education teacher at West McDowell Middle (McDowell County Schools) for being selected by the Society of Health and Physical Educators (SHAPE) America as the 2022 Southern District Teacher of the Year for Middle School Physical Education. Faw was one of 20 teachers nationwide honored for their work as educators for adapted physical education, dance education, health and elementary, middle and high school physical education!
