MCDOWELL COUNTY SCHOOLS: To Host Kindergarten Registration For the 2022-2023 School Year

McDowell County Schools issued the following announcement on Mar. 29.

McDowell County Schools is excited to host Kindergarten registration for the 2022-2023 school year this Friday morning beginning at 9:00 at Glenwood Elementary, Marion Elementary, Nebo Elementary, North Cove Elementary, Old Fort Elementary, Pleasant Gardens Elementary, and West Marion Elementary.  Eastfield Global Magnet will host Kindergarten registration on April 7 at 3:30.  Our high-quality teachers provide caring, personalized instruction that is developmentally appropriate and rigorous for our young learners.  Kindergarten is an important milestone for students and families, and McDowell County Schools is here to help guide everyone through the registration process.

Please note that you will need the following information to register your student for kindergarten:

- Proof of age verifying the student will be five years old on or before Aug. 

   31. 

- A certified copy of child's immunization record that includes a doctor’s signature 

   or a clinic’s stamp as proof the vaccines were given. 

- Two documents that provide proof of residence. 

- Before the first day of school, you will also need to provide the school with a 

  completed Kindergarten Health Assessment Report. The form must be signed by a 

  doctor and include all of the information requested on the form.
