You should bring: Water/hydration, snacks, work gloves, sun protection to fit your needs (hats, sunscreen, etc).
You should wear: Comfortable shoes & high visibility clothing. We will be picking up trash along a roadside on uneven terrain.
What you get: The eternal satisfaction of beautifying McDowell County!
Plus -- Ride House is donating coffee to get us going, and our friends up the hill in Black Mountain, Dough House, will be donating vegan doughnuts!
We need your help keeping McDowell County Beautiful! We’ll meet at Old Fort Ride House (59 Commerce Street) a little before 9. You can park in the gravel lot. Old Fort Ride House will provide hot coffee to get us fueled up and ready to clean up & vegan doughnuts from Dough House (located in Black Mountain). From there, we will break off into groups and tackle different sections of road around Old Fort. Routes will be no longer than 2 miles, from start to finish.
Keeping McDowell Beautiful will provide safety vests, trash bags, and trash grabbers. Please bring work gloves if you have them.
After the clean-up, we’ll all meet back up at Old Fort Ride House to drop off supplies, and head over to Hillman to enjoy a beer. Lunch will be available for purchase to anyone who is hungry!
