COUNTY OF RUTHERFORD: Hiring School Resource Officers

County of Rutherford issued the following announcement on July 1.

The Rutherford County Sheriff's Office is seeking qualified applicants to fill multiple School Resource Officer positions in our Elementary Schools. Come join our team and be a part of one of the most rewarding jobs in law enforcement! 

Minimum requirements to apply for this position:

(1) Posses Certification as a Sworn Law Enforcement Officer in North Carolina.

(2) Two (2) Years Full-Time Experience.

(3) No Disciplinary Action in the Last Twelve Months.

(4) SRO Training Preferred But Not Required.

(CURRENT SHERIFF’S OFFICE EMPLOYEES)

Those interested in applying must submit in writing a letter of intent, a list of your current training, years of service and current position. Also, include a brief paragraph as to why you want to work as a School Resource Officer.

(OFFICERS WITH OTHER LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES)

You must obtain and submit a full application packet through the front office and also submit a resume outlining your current training, years of service, and current position with your agency. Also, include a brief paragraph as to why you want to work as a School Resource Officer.

Applicants must submit the above information on or before Friday, July 8, 2022, at 5:00pm to the attention of Captain Brian Gooch.
