City of Shelby issued the following announcement on Oct. 10.
The City of Shelby Stormwater Division would like for you to remember these tips when applying fertilizer to your lawn:
- Sweep or blow any fertilizer that lands on a paved surface back into the lawn.
- Conduct a soil test, so that you do not over apply fertilizer.
- Consider using compost or organic fertilizers instead.
- Fertilizers should be stored in a covered area away from contact with stormwater.
