County of McDowell issued the following announcement on Oct. 24.
This coming Veterans Day, the National Association of Counties (NACo) and the National Association of County Veteran Service Officers have invited the nation’s 3,069 counties, parishes, and boroughs to join Operation Green Light and show support for veterans by lighting our buildings green from November 7 to November 13.
By shining a green light, county governments and our residents will let veterans know that they are seen, appreciated and supported.
The Board of Commissioners has enacted a resolution designating McDowell County as a Green Light for Veterans County to encourage County departments and residents to shine a green light during the week of November 7th through the 13th.
Join us as we show our veterans that their service matters to us and we are grateful!
