City of Shelby issued the following announcement on March 17.
The Uptown Shelby Association is excited to announce our inaugural UPTOWN BLOCK PARTY!
We created this event to honor the 5 O'Clock Block Parties and other special events of the past, to celebrate our hometown artists, and to have an additional family-friendly event happening in our district.
Washington Street will be closed between the Marion St. and Warren St. intersections. We recommend that you bring a lawn chair or picnic blanket if you'd like to sit!
We are thrilled to have Ocean Boulevard performing at the very first Uptown Block Party, especially as they celebrate 40 years together in 2023!
Anna's Sweet Treats will be onsite with delicious snacks.
