Rutherford County Revenue Department has a Business Personal Property Technician position open: Work involves administrative, technical and customer service duties in the Assessor’s office providing general information to the public on tax laws and policies, assisting in maintaining accurate records of real property, business/personal property, List and assesses business personal property, mainly, but may have other duties in assisting in vehicle registrations. Compares listings with last years’ forms for accuracy and/or changes, utilizes price guides and depreciation schedules to assign values to personal property items, and provides customer service by telephone and in person to obtain information and/or resolve discrepancies. Assists taxpayers with inquiries about tax assessments; reviews property valuation data errors, vehicle registrations; forwards real property information to appraisal division as appropriate. Reviews and evaluates exclusion information and enters data into computer records. Processes bill adjustments and tax refunds, as state law requires. Maintains records and associated forms concerning workflow and completion dates and other duties as assigned. Requires knowledge of Microsoft Office programs such as Excel, Word, Outlook, and Internet Explorer. $29,127 plus benefits. Min req: Graduation from high school and one year of administrative experience in tax assessment. Real estate and/or appraisal operations or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of business operations would be a positive. Must possess valid NC driver's license with clean driving record. Apply Rutherford County 289 N.
