COUNTY OF RUTHERFORD: Full-Time Code Enforcement Officer Position Available

County of Rutherford issued the following announcement on Jan. 21.

 Rutherford County has a full time Code Enforcement Officer position available.  Position reports to the Director of Building Inspections.    Duties involve working with contractors, developers, engineers, and property owners to inspect new and remodeled buildings both residential and commercial for compliance with Building, Electrical, Plumbing and Mechanical Codes.  Also provides support and interpretation of state codes, meets with property owners, assists with office responsibilities related to permit issuance and examination of building plans and construction documents for compliance with the NC State Building Codes.  Job requires working in confined spaces, on roof tops, and in attics. 

Minimum requirements: 

High School diploma, experience and/or special training in residential/commercial building, electrical, mechanical or plumbing fields or equivalent combination of education and experience.  

Must be able to pass state certifications within time frame allocated. 

Must have valid driver license, clean driving record. 

Minimum salary $39,675 depending upon education, certifications and experience plus benefits.

 Hours: Mon through Friday 7:30 – 4:00, may involve evening meetings or presentations.
