County of Cleveland issued the following announcement on Apr. 25.
N.C. Department of Transportation crews plan to close a Cleveland County bridge next week for a maintenance project.
Beginning Monday, Cleveland Bridge #7 on U.S. 29 in Kings Mountain, which carries traffic over Interstate 85, will be closed. The closure is necessary to allow crews to safely patch potholes. Work is expected to be complete by Thursday.
Traffic traveling on U.S. 29 North will be detoured to N.C. 216 to Kings Mountain Boulevard and I-85 South to return to I-85 North.
Drivers should remain alert when approaching the work zone and slow down when adjusting to the detour.
