County of McDowell issued the following announcement on May 25.
A Flash Flood Watch remains in effect for McDowell County. Heavy rainfall is expected through the evening and into the early morning hours on Friday. If you live near a creek, river, or in a flood-prone area be alert and ready to act should a Flash Flood Warning be issued. Never drive through a flooded roadway. Turn Around - Don't Drown
