COUNTY OF RUTHERFORD: Transit Specialist Position Available

Position Available-Rutherford County has a Transit Specialist position available. This job class performs financial and administrative work supporting the public transit department.  Work involves creating billing reports and generating monthly invoices to agencies, grants management and reporting, , coordinating new driver orientation and departmental employee training, managing department accounts payable, preparing grant reimbursements and a variety of required State reports using operating statistics, receiving driver time sheets and maintaining accurate reports, overseeing the proper use and condition of vehicle tablets.  Work also involves providing customer service to the public and other county agencies and serving as back up to the department transit scheduler.  This position must be proficient in various computer software programs including Microsoft Office with special emphasis on Excel, proprietary trip scheduling software, and file maintenance programs to enter, store, and/or retrieve and format information as requested or otherwise necessary.  Requires tact, judgment, and organizational skills. Min req:  High school diploma supplemented by coursework in business or accounting and administrative experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Associate degree preferred. Minimum salary $33,143 with benefits.
